The project aims to design a device that can act as an add-on device to a conventional furnace to make it Industry 4.0 enabled and make tradition furnace into a smart furnace.
In the traditional furnace, the user could only enter temperature to which he/she want to hold workpiece using the control board of the furnace. Also, the user can't set heating and cooling rate. So this makes it impossible to run large and complex heat treatment cycle, as the user need to be present to control each step of the cycle.
After this add-on, the user can enter the complete heat treatment cycle. The cycle may a complex combination of set temperatures, holding time at that temperature and varying heating as well as cooling rate of in degree centigrade per Hr.
The live temperature gets logged in server for further analytics. Accuracy of cycle increased. A smart web application enables the user to enter the complete cycle in one shot. This add-on makes furnace IoT enabled. So now the user can see a live update of furnace temperature through live plotting and control it from any place on this globe.
