Developed an automize machine based on IoT to inspect internal thread of manufactured components. This project deployed in Dekson Castings Ltd, Aurangabad. This IoT is used on the shop floor for 100% job inspection and inspects 1500 components per day.
Internal thread inspection is a cumbersome process, and 100% inspection of all threads is not possible without automation.
This machine uses the automatic movement of thread gauge to examine the internal thread of the components with the help of a motor. Based on sensors continuous data, it decides that whether component have defective threads or not. This equipment is capable of inspecting four threads at a time. So a component with four threads, located at a different position with some tolerance can be inspected. Also, in this equipment automatize inspection of other important feature are inspected using Go - No Go gauges having pneumatic control.
As this is IoT as well, it updates all live process data to the cloud. At the end of the day following information can be summarised:
1. Number of jobs inspected 2. Number of Okay jobs 3. Number of jobs rejected
Website, Mobile App and Widget are used to sync data from the cloud. Visualizers like graphs, counters, etc. are used to monitor the process.
